Imagine you’re home one afternoon trying to relax after a long week when all of a sudden your geyser bursts. It’s the last thing you want to deal with now but you have to act fast to contact a plumber. Only problem is you don’t know any plumbers, so you call your friends or family asking if they know of any good plumbers. You might get a number from them that you call but there’s no answer, so now you have to call someone else to get a number for a different plumber and hope they respond. You can of course ask on any of the WhatsApp groups for the number of a plumber and wait for a reply but every minute that passes means more damage to your house.

Now what if there was a platform you can use that has a list of all the plumbers in the area, with reviews attached so you can ensure you’re getting someone qualified. A platform that gives you the information you need fast so that you don’t waste time finding the right person. What if this platform has more than just plumbers but also lists all the businesses in the area, making it convenient to find the business or service you’re looking for. No more asking around, just a few clicks and you have the information you need. That is the vision I had that lead to the creation of Seabreeze Directory.

My name is Rico and over the last few months I’ve been working on turning my vision into reality. Seabreeze Directory is a business directory website specifically made for Alexandria, Kenton-on-Sea, Port Alfred and surrounding areas. My goal for this website is for it to become the go-to source for people to find the business or service they’re looking for. In order for the website to reach it’s full potential, we as a community need as many businesses in the area to be added as possible. To help achieve this, I made the decision to not have any costs involved in adding a listing. Businesses can add their listing for free and there won’t be any monthly fees to pay.

As a life long resident of the area, I know how time consuming it can be to find the right person for a job, or to find a place that sells something specific you’re looking for. As a small business owner, I also know what it’s like from the other side, trying to get new clients and getting your name out there. Most of us rely on word of mouth and WhatsApp groups to post our ads on and these methods can work, but they do have their drawbacks. With this website, it’s much simpler to find the business or service you need as well as improving awareness of businesses in the area and helping them reach new potential customers. A true win-win for everyone.

I have high hopes for this website and after reading this, I hope you can see my vision and are as excited about this as I am. With the help and support of the communities in Alex, Kenton and Port Alfred, I’m sure this website can reach its full potential.
